SONYA (Master Injector/Aesthetician)
An Islander from Guam who graduated medical school as an Ambassador in 2010. She has over sixteen years in the medical and the esthetic field combined, helping thousands of clients. She has worked side-by-side with different physicians in the past in Cardiology, Sports Medicine, Dermatology, and Rheumatology. In 2017 she graduated with multiple certificates of excellence and was honored as a leader chosen by her instructors and fellow classmates during esthetic school in San Antonio, TX. She has over five years of experience in permanent makeup, body contouring, lash extensions, laser treatments and over nine years as a skin specialist. She had the privilege of managing two medical spas as lead Master Injector, Aesthetician and training employees. Continuous training with Allergan, Galderma and other vendors to stay updated in new technologies and techniques in the medical spa industry. She is highly passionate in skin care and cosmetic enhancements. She is a motivated and driven professional that puts 100% effort in every endeavor. She plans to continue working hard & grow her skills to help others.
DR. ZULFIQAR SHAH (Physician/Medical Director)
Zulfiqar Shah, MD, is a skilled, board-certified internal medicine and medical cannabis physician at Texas THC Doctor, located in Seguin, Texas. Dr. Shah is also a United States Air Force veteran and a certified specialist in injections, cosmetic lasers, male enhancements and bioidentical hormone replacement, and anti-aging medicine. He considers it a distinct honor to share his knowledge and expertise with individuals living throughout Guadalupe County and the Greater San Antonio area. He currently owns three medical spas and continues to see clients in New Braunfels and San Antonio.
Dr. Shah earned his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1997. After completing his undergraduate studies, he earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in 2001. His mission is to provide a professional atmosphere, personal attention, and exceptional care to every patient.
KIARA (Licensed Registered Nurse)
I am a Licensed Registered Nurse with a bachelor's degree from the University of the Incarnate Word and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Texas Tech. With a strong passion for helping others, I am a skilled healthcare professional committed to delivering exceptional care. Currently, I work at Methodist Hospital as a NICU Nurse, and on Fridays, I have the privilege of treating clients as the IV Nurse at Island Beauty Aesthetics Medical Spa.
NANCY (Aesthetician)
I am a passionate and proficient aesthetician with a decade of experience as a skin specialist. With exceptional skills in addressing a wide range of skin concerns, I am dedicated to providing the best solutions for my clients. My excellent customer service is rooted in attentive listening and a commitment to educating clients about their skin health. My unwavering dedication to delivering the highest level of service ensures that every client leaves feeling cared for and confident in their skincare journey.
JOANNA (Aesthetician)
Joanna is an esthetician and body sculpting specialist who is passionate about helping clients look and feel their best.
Specializing in advanced skincare treatments and innovative body sculpting techniques, Joanna delivers results-focused services designed to enhance natural beauty and build confidence. Her approach combines expertise, precision, and genuine care, ensuring every client feels comfortable, supported, and valued throughout their experience.
KATALINA “Kat” (Aesthetician)
Katalina is a dedicated and passionate licensed esthetician and laser technician who truly loves everything about beauty and skincare. She finds genuine joy in connecting with her clients, building lasting relationships, and helping each person feel confident in their own skin. Katalina specializes in addressing a wide range of skin concerns through customized treatments, including advanced services like RF microneedling, laser hair removal, and IPL therapy.
Her expertise extends beyond skincare, offering services such as Korean lash lifts, brow lamination, and body sculpting to enhance her clients’ natural beauty from head to toe. Always eager to grow, Katalina is committed to continuing her education and expanding her skill set so she can provide the latest and most effective treatments. LAWRENCE (Massage Therapist)
Lawrence is a Licensed Massage Therapist with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a passion for helping others feel and move better. He holds a bachelor’s degree from UTSA and completed massage training at River City Massage School.
With years of experience providing individualized care at one of San Antonio's largest personal injury clinics, he specializes in recovery-focused massage to support healing after injury and improve overall function. His approach is rooted in science and tailored to each client’s needs.
Outside of the clinic, Lawrence enjoys lifting weights, watching UFC, and spending time with his wife and their two dogs.
LATOYA (Massage Therapist)
Latoya Adams is a Licensed Massage Therapist with 15 years of teaching yoga and group fitness classes. She holds her E-RYT 500 through Yoga Alliance and has served on faculty for yoga teacher trainings and has led yoga retreats around the world. Her greatest passion is equipping people with the tools to live a life that is functional, fulfilling, and full of freedom to pursue incredible adventures. Latoya has come to use massage therapy as another method of healing - one that helps people feel strong in their bodies, more clear in their minds, and free in their spirits. Her natural ability to connect with others inspires people to explore their own health and take ownership of their well-being.
RUBYCELA “Ruby” (Massage Therapist)
With over 12 years of experience in therapeutic massage, she specializes in pain management, post-surgical recovery, and injury rehabilitation. Her primary focus is to assist clients in restoring mobility, alleviating chronic pain, and enhancing the body's natural healing processes. She is proficient in a variety of modalities, including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Prenatal Massage, Sports Massage, Cupping Therapy, Hot Stone, Lymphatic Drainage, and Body Gua Sha. Her passion for massage therapy is rooted in a sincere commitment to helping others improve their well-being and lead healthier lives. Ruby strives to deliver results-driven treatments within a compassionate and supportive environment.
