LASH EXTENSION ( Professional Eyelash Extensions)

PRE & POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

 1. Avoid Caffeine/Stimulants Up To Four Hours Before Your Appointment.

Many of us enjoy starting our mornings with a cup of coffee, but did you know that this habit can actually make your lash appointment less enjoyable? Caffeine and other stimulants can make our lashes flutter, making it harder for the technician to apply the extensions correctly. In addition, it can keep us from relaxing and enjoying the appointment, as we’ll be too focused on staying awake. So next time you’re booked in for lash extensions, make sure to skip the coffee beforehand and enjoy a relaxing cup afterward instead. Your lashes will thank you for it!

2. Arrive With a Clean Face and Clean Eyelashes.

In order to get the most out of your lash extension service, it is important to arrive with clean lashes. Residual oils and makeup will only prevent the adhesive from properly bonding, resulting in poor retention. Your lash stylist should not spend more than a few minutes cleansing and prepping your lashes. This means that less time is spent cleaning and more time is spent applying lash extensions, resulting in a fuller, more flattering look. It is also important to note that facial and brow makeup is perfectly acceptable to wear to your appointment; however, if you must wear eye makeup, it is best to book a morning appointment. This will ensure you have time after your appointment to apply your eye makeup.

3. Avoid Using Oil-Based Products On and Around the Eyes Prior to Your Appointment.

It’s important to avoid using oil-based products around your eyes before the appointment. Oil can cause the adhesive to break down, making it difficult for the lashes to stay in place. It will decrease your retention dramatically, which will result in you needing more frequent fills.

4. Dress Comfortably.

One of the biggest tips we can give you is to dress comfortably for your eyelash appointment. Keep in mind, based on the type of set you booked for, you’ll be spending at least an hour lying down, so it’s important to be comfortable. Comfortable clothing will help you relax and enjoy the time being pampered.

5. Bring Headphones.

As we mentioned previously, you will be laying for at least one hour. Many people enjoy listening to music or podcasts during their eyelash appointments, so they bring their headphones with them. This can help to pass the time and make the experience more enjoyable. However, there are also some practical benefits to wearing headphones during an appointment. Firstly, it can help to cancel out any noise from the salon, making it easier to relax. Secondly, it can help the time go by faster. Lastly, it can be a way of indicating to the technician that you would prefer not to talk during the procedure. This can be helpful if you want to take a nap or simply spend some time in silence.

6. Arrive a Little Early.

Clients are always advised to come in a little early to their eyelash extension appointment. This gives you time to fill out any paperwork and also gives your lash tech a chance to answer any questions you may have. It also means that they can start your treatment on time or sometimes even a bit early, without having to rush.

We know that your time is precious, and we want to make sure that you get the most out of your appointment. So please make sure to arrive a few minutes early, so that your lash tech can give you the best possible service.

LASH EXTENSION CARE BEGINS IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT

When it comes to caring for lash extensions, it’s important to know that the eyelash extension adhesive can take hours to fully cure. This means no saunas, tanning, workouts, swimming or long, steamy showers.

HOW TO CARE FOR LASH EXTENSIONS

If you don’t keep your lashes clean, makeup, oil and debris will accumulate along your lash line. This buildup breaks down the adhesive bond that attaches your lash extensions to your natural lashes. That means poor retention, aka: your extensions will fall off faster than your natural lash shedding cycle and your lash line will have gaps. Lack of proper cleaning can also cause blepharitis (eyelid inflammation), so it’s so important to stay on top of our easy-breezy lash extension aftercare routine.

Follow our lash extensions aftercare instructions to ensure your lashes are being properly taken care of.

  • Avoid wetting your lashes for the first 24-48 hours
  • Stay out of hot steams and saunas
  • Do not use Mascara or Curlers
  • Do not perm or tint your extensions
  • Gently brush your lash extensions daily
  • Dry your lashes carefully by dabbing them
  • Schedule to have your extensions removed professionally

LASH EXTENSION AFTERCARE TIPS

Outside of a proper aftercare routine, make sure you follow these lash extension “musts” to help extend the longevity of your lashes and keep them looking their best:

  • Don’t miss or postpone your lash fill appointments. Getting your lashes refilled every 2 weeks is necessary to keep that lash line looking full. We love seeing you come in routinely for your refills! BECOME A MEMBER to save on fills!
  • Be gentle with your lashes. Avoid rubbing your eyes and picking or pulling at your lashes. Not only can this cause your lash extensions to fall off prematurely, but it is also damaging to your natural lashes.
  • Avoid alcohol- and oil-based skincare or cosmetic products near or around your eye area. Both oil and alcohol will break down the lash adhesive, causing premature lash fallout.
